Lunch at Itadaki
11:47 AM
With so many dining options on Newbury Street it can be hard to narrow down where to go for lunch. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Itadaki at 269 Newbury Street and it was an equally Instagrammable and delicious meal! Itadaki is a Japanese restaurant and bar with diverse menu and lengthy Sake list conveniently located near the middle of Newbury Street.
I started off with Fried Takoyaki (pictured below) with octopus, scallion, bonito flake, mayo, and takoyaki sauce before indulging in the Rising Sun Roll (avocado, cucumber, shiso topped with salmon, lemon, tobiko) and Mango (sweet potato tempura, cucumber, cream cheese, mango) sushi rolls.
The Takoyaki was warm and flavorful and made for a great sharable appetizer while the presentation of the sushi was absolutely beautiful. A garnished salad with fresh flowers made for a vibrant centerpiece, and the heart shape of the Rising Sun roll was adorable (and was the perfect roll for any salmon lover!).
I ended the meal on a heavier note; with the Chicken Kara-age or Japanese fried chicken. These boneless fried pieces of chicken took a little longer to emerge from the kitchen, but were well worth the wait. They were hot, fresh, juicy, and flavorful and were something I will definitely be ordering again.
In addition to lunch, Itadaki offers brunch, dinner, dessert, and a vegetarian menu making it the perfect Newbury Street spot for any meal. They also take reservations online via SeatMe. Stop by and tell them Style Wire sent you!
