Back to Basics: Intimates

While the new year inspires a fresh start for many, this year has been all about getting "Back to Basics" for me. From simplifying my beauty routine to buying more practical flats instead of sky high heels, it's what inspired this series. And despite the negative connotation the word "basic" has taken on, I'm hoping to inspire you to simplify things in your life. To splurge on those pieces you reach for day after day, and to try to find your way back to a time before arm parties and tulle skirts...
I'd like to start with some of the most basic garments of all: underwear. I don't know about you, but I like mine nude and seamless. You may prefer classic black and be all about support, but whatever you need, a trip to the Bra Fit Stylists at Intimacy Copley Place will leave you feeling confident, sexy, and in some great fitting garments.
A stylist leads you into their chic fitting rooms and puts you in a silk robe and together you evaluate your current bra sitch. (Mine? Dingy, ill-fitting, and slightly embarrassing.) Your stylist will then fit you and find your European size, which is often very different from American bra sizing. This experience can be as hands on or off as you want; these stylists have seen it all, in every possible shape and size so there is no need to be shy. You're then given a gorgeous selection of luxury bras to choose from and try on and once you've made your selection they can help you choose matching underwear as well. I went home with a set from MarieJo that I absolutely love. It fits like a dream and leaves me standing taller, feeling more confident, and ready to take on the world. Their bras ring in at over $100 with some styles retailing up to $200 but it's well worth the splurge (hence why I skimped on the wine!).
