What I Wore: Faux Fur Hat
10:45 AM
During my first week at Emerson College back in 2007, true to my then-hipster ways, I scoured the web and did exhaustive research on the best vintage and thrift shops in the Boston area.
First on my list was the cleverly named Garment District, a local favorite for Halloween costumes and the Dollar-a-Pound basement where, you guessed it, clothing is sold by the pound at just $1 per pound. You're standing in a pit of laundry three feet deep and you literally have to dig through in search of hidden gems. Somehow in all the junk, I found this faux fur hat (originally by Toppers) and had to have it! I wore it the whole way back to the dorms and now every winter I look forward to sporting it. This year I paired it with basic black and a chic pair of Mary Janes for a Boston fashion show.
Talbots Cashmere Pullover // LOFT Marisa Fluid Pants // Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes (similar) // Juicy Couture Handbag (similar for sale in my Poshmark Closet!) // MAC Russian Red Lipstick
Is there a piece you look forward to styling each season?
