Pro-Tip Tuesday: Love Your Leather
12:57 PMWhen buying shoes and handbags I always try to buy leather. It's durable, repairable, and if you care for it and store it properly, will last you a lifetime. Today I'll be showing you what I use to keep my leather products in prime condition and next week I'll have a little tutorial showing you how I prepped my new Kate Spade for the streets!
I keep a box of leather care products in a small box in my closet. Inside I have...
- I use Timberland Balm Proofer XL to protect against water and stains. I like it because it's not just for use on smooth leathers but on suede, nubuck, and fabrics as well.
- I also have a tin of Kiwi Saddle Soap to clean up stains and dirt on my smooth leather bags and shoes. I use it frequently in the winter to remove salt stains and to keep my Harley Davidson boots in top condition.
- I keep a tin of Kiwi Shoe Polish in neutral to make them shine. It's also great for pointed toe heels. I have a navy pair that require frequent shining.
- And last but not least, I'm obsessed with Fiebing's Mink Oil Paste. It waterproofs, conditions, and preserves leathers. It can darken certain leathers, so it's important to test an inconspicuous area before you apply it.
